Current Projects
Welcome to the news section of Kor Photographie. This page features updates on recent projects, upcoming exhibitions, and new additions to the portfolio. Photography is an evolving practice, and this space documents that ongoing creative journey.
Recent Portrait Sessions
Over the past months, I have had the privilege of working with several remarkable subjects on portrait projects. Each session has been unique, presenting different challenges and opportunities. From environmental portraits captured in the golden light of Breton afternoons to carefully lit studio work, these sessions have added new depth to the portrait collection.
One particularly memorable session involved photographing a local musician in her rehearsal space. The natural light streaming through tall windows, combined with the textures and shapes of musical instruments, created an environment rich with visual interest. These kinds of environmental portraits, where the subject's passion and profession are integral to the composition, represent some of the most satisfying work I create.
Landscape Expeditions
Landscape photography requires dedication and patience. Recent expeditions along the Brittany coast have yielded several new images that capture the dramatic interaction of land and sea. Working during the winter months, when storms bring both challenges and photographic opportunities, has resulted in some of the most dynamic seascape images in the portfolio.
The Atlantic coast of Brittany is never the same twice. Tides, weather, seasons—all contribute to an ever-changing visual palette. This constant variation means that even well-known locations can yield fresh perspectives and new compositions.
Fine Art Figure Studies
Continuing the exploration of the figure as an artistic subject, recent studio sessions have focused on minimalist compositions that emphasize form and light. Working in black and white allows complete focus on tonal relationships and the sculptural qualities of the human body.
These sessions have been collaborative in the truest sense, with experienced models bringing their own understanding of form and movement to the creative process. The resulting images honor the classical traditions of figure photography while seeking contemporary relevance.
Technical Developments
Photography, like all arts, benefits from both mastery of fundamentals and exploration of new techniques. Recent work has involved experimentation with focus stacking for landscape photography, allowing greater depth of field while maintaining image quality. This technique, combined with careful post-production, enables the creation of prints with exceptional sharpness and detail.
In the studio, I have been refining lighting approaches to achieve even more subtle and nuanced results in portrait work. Sometimes the best innovations come not from adopting new equipment but from deepening one's understanding of light itself.
Looking Ahead
The coming months will see continued work across all three primary areas of focus: portraiture, figure studies, and landscape photography. I am also exploring opportunities for exhibition of the work, both locally in Brittany and potentially in other French cities.
For those interested in following along with new work as it develops, please check back regularly or reach out through the contact page to be added to the mailing list for updates on new projects and exhibitions.
Collaboration Opportunities
I am always interested in connecting with models, fellow photographers, and creative collaborators. If you have ideas for projects or are interested in working together, please don't hesitate to reach out. The best work often emerges from unexpected collaborations.
